Some More Izzer Predictions

As you, dear reader, know, Baby Mama and I feature our white fluff ball of doom, aka Izzers, in this blog on an almost unhealthy level. Back in February, we had Isabelle give us her 'prediction' on the gender of Baby Hunt. We found out later that Izzers (and I) were wrong,* so we decided to give The Poodlum a chance to try again.

This time, we decided on a slightly different set up. Last time, we did carved milk bones, this time, we decided to show off Baby Mama's ability to make note-cards.

Thank you Simpson College, and your private college tuition, for making this possible.

First up was guessing Baby Hunt's weight. As shown in the photo above, we used Ritzes to help Isabelle with her 'prognosticating.' The cards were set up as shown, and then Pups was let loose.

The Blur Of Izzers doesn't mess around when it comes to Ritzes. You can tell that she believes that Baby Hunt will be a lightweight, weighing between 6 and 7 lbs.

Much to Baby Mama's relief, this card was not chosen.

Next, Date of Birth was predicted. Again, same setup:

And again, The Blur of Izzers wastes no time:

While you can't tell from the photo, Isabelle believes that Baby Hunt will take after Baby Mama, and be fashionably late ( between 1 and 2 weeks).

While discussing educated (aka complete and total) guesses, we'll reveal our (Baby Mama and my) predictions as well. We were asked to do this during one of the Lamaze Classes we went to:

Baby Mama:
Date of Birth: 8-10-10
Weight: 8 lbs. 3 oz.
Length: 21 inches

Baby Daddy:
Date of Birth 8-9-10
Weight: 7 lbs, 11 oz.
Length: 20 inches

Finally, we conclude this post with Izzers after the gorging on crackers.

Izzers is no longer a blur when full of Ritzes

*Yes, that means Baby Mama was right. Thank you. Like I haven't heard THAT before ;).

Sibling Rivalry

I think it has started. This evening I drove home from work, opened up the front door, and saw this:

A shower gift, knocked over, and rummaged through . . .

Then, as I looked more, I saw this . . .

Our culprit has a liking for small, stuffed toys, and clearly thought this was hers.

In other news, my 30 week appointment was last Wednesday and everything continues to go well. Baby Hunt is measuring right on track (though if you ask me he is growing exponentially these past three-four weeks), my blood pressure was 120/68, and his heartbeat was 134 bpm. I promise a BabyHuntbump picture from the wedding this weekend where I get to be a 32 week pregnant bridesmaid!

What we've learned in April . . .

It is not even the middle of April and we've already learned a few useful pieces of knowledge this month.

1. We pack WAY too much shit. Going to our parents for Easter, we took a suitcase full of our clothes, a separate bag full of necessities (toothbrushes, lotion, hair dryer, etc.), a bag for Izzers' stuff, Izzers' kennel, a small bag full of books, to-do lists, ultrasound pictures, etc., and a cooler. In case you are wondering, our parents live an hour away from us, and fifteen minutes from the other. That weekend we both decided we were not going to be hauling an infant and infant's things on top of it all, so we've made a goal to downsize in the next few months.

2. 40 weeks is a really short time. Granted, the first 2-3 really don't count. We currently have 17 weeks until Baby Hunt is due, and pretty much have each week mapped out on my giant 'Baby Hunt Prep' To-Do list. Oh, yes, it exists.

3. If you have been reading between the lines, you may have heard mention of Isabelle once - or twice - or fifty times. She is a big part of our lives, and we think others have taken notice. Take, for example, the last three baby items we have received:

A paw-printed baby blanket, paw-printed booties, and an adorable puppy themed children's book. These were from three different people! I guess it's pretty obvious that we love our Izzers.

4. As evidenced by the above photo, I greatly need to update my picture-taking abilities in the next few weeks. This may entail a new camera and some photo editing software. I am pretty sure Baby Hunt will be the most handsome little boy you have all ever seen (I may be a little biased), and bad pictures just won't do. Again, I'm vain like that. If anyone has any camera or software recommendations for a beginner, please let me know!

Izzer's Prediction

Yes, we are those people. Those people with the small, fluffy dog that we treat just like a child. She will be the star of many more posts, I assure you.

Izzers has particpated in the gender guessing poll, and we're back with a recap. Baby Daddy demonstrated his man skills by carving an M (male) into one bone, and a F (female) into the other. He then showed them both to Izzers as I explained the importance of her 'mission'.

Whichever bone she picked would be her prediction. Next, Baby Daddy lined them up side by side (we're very scientific) to reduce any bias.

After a few moments of whining, we let her go, she ran across the room and immediately grabbed the one on the right . . . Izzers is thinking 'girl'.
